The best and cheapest way to prolong the life of your MacBook. I’ve installed it on my 13 inches, mid-2012 MacBookPro, which is still a reliable machine if properly upgraded. Thanks to this adapter I am now able to enjoy macOs Big Sur, using the BenSova patcher, with native support of Wi-Fi and continuity features, such as InstantHotspot and so on. Installation is quite easy, if you are used to deal with these machines. Just take your time and follow the instructions. So, thank you for the realization of this product. I used a BCM943602CS card from eBay for less than 30 Euro.
If you own my same Mac model, you should definitely perform this upgrade.

  2. BeatCrazy

Perfect kit to upgrade your MacBook Pro!
I use this kit, along with a BCM943602CS card, to upgrade my 2010 17″ MacBook Pro 6,1. Installation instructions and support from the Intriguing Industries team was really good. I did have an issue with my flex cable being a little too long while using the BCM943602CS. I was able to bend it slightly to allow for everything to fit. That didn’t cause any performance issues. If you want to avoid this slight bending on your 17″ MacBook Pro, you might want to get the shorter Bluetooth flex cable from the 13″ model.
Also, I was able to get Continuity to work on macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 by using the Continuity Activation Tool (easy to find online).

A month ago I ordered this upgrade kit. Two weeks later I received it from customs in The Netherlands. Installed everything in my MacBook Pro A286 late 2011 and it directly works after reboot. I use the BCM943602CS (802.11ac / Bluetooth 4.2 card) and it works great! Only little difficulty is to connect the antenna adapters to the new network card because the connectors are very small. Upgraded the computer also with 8 gigabyte memory (2×4 GB) and some years ago a SSD to replace the hard drive, makes this machine as new 😀

    Support and communication is great.

  4. J (verified owner)

I ordered this upgrade kit after discussing upgrade options on a Mac users forum. Installed everything in my MacBook Pro A1278 Mid 2012 and it works as described. I chose the BCM943602CS (802.11ac / Bluetooth 4.2 card) which is a tight fit, but it works great and on Big Sur 11.5.2

Communication is great and Josh is A1 for support also, well done and thanks again.

  5. Monte (verified owner)

So so happy with my order. Amazing and just brilliant to see a company making and selling legacy compatible parts.

My MacBook Pro 2012 15” is now about as upgraded as it can be. Unlocking with Apple Watch, handoff and airdrop all work perfectly. Networks I’d already connected to work fine, if not better than before. The instructions on ii’s website are very useful.

I’ll be buying from these guys again very soon, no doubt.

  6. Dimitris K. (verified owner)

I recently bought the adapter that fits my MacBook Pro 9,2.
I followed the installation instructions and it worked perfectly!
    Highly recommended!

  7. Ludovic LANGE-BRÉJON de LAVERGNÉE (verified owner)

    A very nice kit !

I’ve just finished upgrading my mid-2012 15″ MBP which is now able to connect to our home WiFi networks at far better speeds than before (I’ve installed a BCM943602CS card, which works great with both MacOS and Linux).

The kit is very simple, efficient, the build quality and packaging are great, and really enable you to upgrade an otherwise perfectly good computer, making it able to cope with the changes of the WiFi / Bluetooth norms, bandwidth, etc….

Thanks Josh for making this product available, for being available for questions, and for this ability to “upcycle” your old laptop !

  8. Con Noonan

Excellent product, the process is a bit fiddly but the instructions are clear and well explained. One thing I found difficult was clipping the little antennae onto the adapter but just be patient and careful, eventually they will click into place. Customer support and communication was exemplary throughout.

  9. Vitaly (verified owner)

Great kit! all works! Thank you! I from Russia and it and it was delivered to me in 2 weeks – that’s fast for these places! Installation is simple, there is an instruction and all the necessary parts. Great job. Now my MBP 13 2012 works great with new wifi at home and much more modern and fast!
I was buy kit and BCM943602CS card!

  10. Jose Cruz Recinos (verified owner)

Amazing, I saw this at macrumors.com I think 2013 like a project and now is real, I ordered it from the Cayman Islands, the delivery time was one week and the adapter works great, now I can upgrade the OS too MBP 15″ mid 2012, thanks a lot for this great job…

  11. K (verified owner)

Absolutely brilliant. I used this with my mid-2012 13 inch MacBook Pro and got a BCM943602CS from ebay and it works!

The instructions are very helpful, it is clearly written by someone who had lots of experience with this stuff.

One thing I did which made everything easier, but you don’t have to do it if you don’t want to: I used a side cutter to shorten the speaker immediately next to the wifi module), the thing is hollow, it still works after being cut, you can cut off everything up to the woofer really. I also taped up the cut edge with some electric tape. This gave me more space for the wires etc..

Also for the heat shrink tubes, hair dryer works, but probably would’ve been easier if I had a proper heat gun.

It’s great to finally have fully working bluetooth again, and all the newer functions previously missing.

UK delivery was fast via Royal Mail, within a couple of days. Also good communications from the seller.

  12. Dom K

Well designed, straight forward, and very well priced.

This kit is perfect for anyone who does not want to let go of their older Mac.
Installed this in a 2012 Macbook Pro 15 inch and could not be happier. Wifi speed and quality of connection improved greatly.
The installation kit comes with everything you need to install the updated wifi card, and even gives you an extra antenna adapter in case you mess one up. Everything tucks away perfectly in the corner of the Macbook Pro, and all modern airport/airdrop/bluetooth features work perfectly and natively.

If you’re contemplating this upgrade for whatever reason, it is well worth it and works 100%.

I purchased the adapter and their recommended card for best performance (albeit tight fit) off from Amazon – total cost of about $60. It took some work to fit the card in place. I modified the instructions a little in how to cut the bracket. I wanted to keep the card attached to the speaker so when I cut the bracket, it resulted in a L-shape bracket (attachment screw holes to speaker and mounting screw holes to attach to case.) I used a M.2 mounting screw and stud to keep the card in place at the other end of the card. Since the Bluetooth antenna is no longer needed and the fit was tight, I removed the Bluetooth antenna (needed to remove the optical drive and speaker assembly). I worked the camera cable and the longer wifi cable (J0) under the wifi card. I was able to tuck the J1 and J2 cables in the cavity in the corner. The new card was recognized. I now have ac wifi and watch unlock. This was a fun project. This is definitely an affordable option to gain functionality to the MBP 2012.

  14. Egor (verified owner)

I ordered this kit from Joshua.
Installed in my old Macbook Pro 2012 – everything works fine.
WiFi speed increased by about 3 times.
Happy as an elephant! Thanks a lot!

    curling fingers…
I already changed the dvd drive to Blu-ray in it…
Now it remains to find an adapter to insert a Retina screen into this laptop,
as well as reflash EFI to 32Gb RAM (so that 2 16Gb memory cards work)
    – and there will be complete happiness!)))

Having a 13″ MacBook Pro Mid 2012 (A1278) and wanting BigSur to work on it correctly I needed a way to replace the Wifi card. Found this upgrade kit through Google searches and forums and it was the perfect fit to go with a BCM943602CS card from ebay.
Josh and his family were a great help in this process. I really have to thank them. There are steps to follow and it is snug but the end result has been a great upgrade!
For the Big Sur patching I used the OpenCore legacy patcher.

  16. Martin (verified owner)

Installation went perfect after some instructions from Joshua and reading the manual.
My MacBook Pro 15 inch model 2012 works perfect again, Wifi speed is much faster now and it looks like Bluetooth is also working/connecting better and faster. The card I used was a BCM943602CS.

Thanks Joshua, i am very happy!

I rebuilt my old and broken 2010 17″ MacBook Pro from college as a side project, but happened across this upgrade and decided “why the heck not? I’m already tearing the thing apart and if I can even get it back up and running, the worst case scenario here would be that it didn’t work and I could swap back to the original one. Well, it does work, with gave the old spare laptop a slight but noticeable upgrade. However, I didn’t know the full versatility of the upgrade until I realized that when combined with OpenCore Legacy Patcher, the ancient beast was suddenly fully compatible with Universal Control. Suddenly, I can use it as a unique fully featured second monitor I can bring with me anywhere I want! This upgrade is so worth it that I am going to buy a second one to perform this upgrade again. What a great way to give new life to an old computer!
